A group of members , academic staff of BPU Homagama made a field trip to Kaththnkudi,Thirappanei and Thoppigala area on 29th ,30th and 31st  of July 2016
It was a surface exploration in archaeological aspects.
Followings are the outcome of this exploration.
a)  Preparation of stamppages on an unpublished Aththani Pillar inscription in Ihalagama,Kekirawa            

b) Preparation of stumppages on unpublished slab inscription in Eruwewa, Thirappanei

c) Field exploration around Nelugala Rock,Nelugala

                Findings – Inscription, Ancient iron production Site ,Ancient monastery temple   

d) Field exploration around  Omunugala Rock,Walamandiya

                Findings – a Bodhighara ,a Sthupa

e) Field exploration around Veheragodalla Rock , Maduruoya

                Findings – Ancient monastery site
